Citriodiol® safety profile & toxicology
A comprehensive range of experimental and clinical studies of Citriodiol® has been completed. There is also a fully documented database now arising from the extensive consumer use of Mosi-guard® preparations in practice over the past 19 years – sales in excess of 12 million units in over 18 countries. All adverse reaction reports have been carefully logged and analysed.
Extensive toxicology studies of Citriodiol® have been undertaken by Citrefine International Limited in the UK and largely repeated in the United States with additional tests. The results of testing pure PMD have also been reported in the United States (EPA 2000).
It should be noted too, that Citriodiol® preparations for dermal application to humans (spray, roll-on, cream etc) have been fully evaluated and approved by the regulatory authorities in Australia, Spain, Sweden, Denmark, USA, Israel, Greece, Italy, Malaysia and South Africa.
